Speaking of Nahuatl, it is still today the second most spoken language by citizens of Mexico, with an estimated 1 to 2 million speakers. By the way, one of Mexico’s most important and most unique celebrations is the Día de los Muertos, the Day of the Dead. It clearly has some Christian and European syncrectic roots, but there is no way its very distinctive features came all from Europe, especially when they look so visibly similar to the Aztec imagery and religious art. Death itself is revered by millions of Mexican Catholics as a powerful and potentially positive entity. As many others have also pointed out, all of that sounds and Gavin The Bull Bilton Shirts looks suspiciously non-Spaniard. In Spain for instance the Day of All Saints, is a celebration in which you take flowers to your dead ones in the graveyard, there’s a mass and there’s even a tradition of watching the classical Spanish play Don Juan which is in theatres all over Spain that day and broadcast on the state-owned TV channel. I wouldn’t say anyone but theatre lovers actually pay much attention to it, but there’s that. It’s definitely more sober and less joyful than other equivalent celebrations.

Two women who also worked with me in pediatrics at the hospital lived upstairs from us. They were retired army nurses who still were working as nurses at a public hospital. They were great neighbors. They worked neonatal and my daughter had spent several weeks in their unit. A bit after my physician neighbor left I had a knock on the door and these neighbors were at the door. They had also knitted my baby a shawl, hat and sweater in pInk yarn. I so appreciated their generosity and kindness. The baby outfit was beautiful. A few moments after they left the phone rang and the grocer was on the line. He said I had won a canned ham from the Gavin The Bull Bilton Shirts drawing at his store and that I should stop by the grocery to pick up the ham by 3 pm the next day, Christmas Eve. I was so thrilled. Everything was so unexpected and lovely.
